Program: Feeding America San Diego - June 12, 2012

Our speaker today will be Jennifer Gilmore, the Executive Director of Feeding America San Diego (FASD). FASD is the largest distributor of donated food in San Diego County, and works with 170 partner agencies to provide food to 73,000 children, families, and seniors each week. In late May, FASD will begin our first-ever Schools Out, Hungers Not campaign. The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness about the increased need for food assistance during the summer, a time when children, who make up a large portion of those we serve, will not have access to nutritious meals because they won't be benefiting from the Free and Reduced Price Meals Program at school.
